The new Honda Grom comes with a long-stroke 125cc engine and with a higher 10:1 compression ratio and 5-speed gearbox or you can call it transmissions.
Honda Grom was introduced in 2014 for the first time and became Honda’s top-selling street bike in the U.S. More than 7,50,000 bikes have been sold.
In 2014 Honda Grom has been introduced by Honda and it is an easier customizable bike so many garages in California started customizing it and many companies started selling special parts of Grom like big-bore kits, shocks, exhaust pipes, and some other parts.
Over the past few years, Honda has also introduced some other 125cc engine bikes like Honda Monkey ABS, Honda Trail 125, Honda Super Cub C125, and these all are Honda’s MiniMotor category bikes which are for fun riding experience.

Specification: Engine, Performance, and Overview specs
The Honda Grom is powered by a 124.9cc SOHC, air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine which develops 9.7 hp @7,000 rpm and 7.7 lb.-ft. torque @5,500 rpm.
The 2022 Grom comes with a 5-speed gearbox or you can call it transmission with multiplate wet clutch and with optional standard ABS. The bike is SOHC with two valves per cylinder and a chain drive type.
The bore and stroke is higher than the previous Grom (latest 50 x 63.1mm vs. 52.4 x 57.9mm previous) and higher compression ratio which is 10:1 (9.3:1 previous). The bike has a 5-speed gearbox now and a wider gear ratio.
The new larger 38-tooth rear sprocket (previous is 34) helps the bike roll more easily at its top speed which is 60 mph. The ultra-light clutch pull and smooth shifting make the bike more comfortable.
Handling and Maneuverability
When you ride the bike at its mid-speed around 40-45 the suspension will be perfectly adequate, however, if you ride the 2022 Honda Grom at its top speed (60 mph), it runs out of stroke significantly more rapidly, moving greater knocks to the rider.
Talking about suspensions, the fact is that the good suspensions are expensive and Honda does not want to make its bike more expensive so Honda provides the same previous 31mm telescopic fork; 3.9 in. travel front suspension and Single shock; 4.1 in. travel rear suspension.
The handlebar is very lightweight and comfortable which turns the bike right and left in the slightest tug. This bike provides you with a comfortable and unique riding experience and that’s what the Grom is manufactured for.
The tires wrapped on wheels have 130mm width at the rear and 120mm width at the front assisted by standard ABS. The size of wheels is 12-inch each.
The handlebars are very lightweight so you won’t feel any type of weight and you can easily and comfortably ride the 2022 Honda Grom.
Brakes and Safety
There is no change in braking components for third-generation Grom. The bike features a 2-piston caliper, 220mm disc at the front, and a 1-piston caliper, 190mm disc with optional standard ABS.
Comfort and Mileage
The 228 -pound curb weight, low 30.0-inch seat, and standard handlebar make the Grom comfortable and easy to ride.
For taller riders, there is not enough space on the cockpit but the riders who are 5-6 feet tall can easily and comfortably ride the bike.
The Grom ABS has a 1.6-gallon fuel tank, the bike gives mileage of 155 mpg claimed by Honda.
Electronics and Technology
2022 Grom provides an LED headlight and taillight. The multifunction LCD panel shows speed, engine rpm, gear position, fuel level, clock, and has a speedometer, tachometer and twin trip meter. Its nothing seems to be premium in the bike.
The 2022 Honda Grom reflects the characteristic build quality of Honda.
Honda is providing a one-year factory warranty to its 2022 Grom customers. Including roadside assistance, Honda is providing an optional Honda care plan with Extended coverage.
